Expat Social Coming Up
Hello Friends, Calling all Expats!!! Calling all Expats!!! Our 4th Monday "Party" Social at the Barcelona Restaurant will be the place of action. Be there or be square! Before giving you all the details let us remind you to bring your business cards or flyers (No larger than a half (8 1/2 X 11 sheet of paper please) to put on the information board. The staff at the last Barcelona social cleaned up so efficiently that most of the information board items disappeared! We want to provide a place for you to share your business cards, want ads, or information, but it is up to you to see that the items get replenished.
Also, it seems that somehow (believe us it is a mystery to us!) a few names have disappeared from the mailing list without us removing them. Of course you know if you get this that you are still on the list, but please, please, please help us out by asking others that you know if they got this invitation so we can add them again if a gremlin () ate their name! Thank you !
Okie Dokie..........Following are the social details so you can plan to attend.........and please bring someone along if you like.
- What: PCity Expat Party Social
- When: Monday, October 24, 2005
- Where: Barcelona Restaurant just inside the Majestic Casino on the 4th floor of the Multi Centro Mall on Balboa Avenue.
- Time: 6:00 pm Mixing/Mingling/Cocktails (drink specials will be 2 for the price of 1)
- 6:30 Buffet opens
- 8:30 - 10:30 Disc Jockey Gilbert will be spinning records (1960's - 90's) music in the Jazzy Bar Lounge for our listening and dancing pleasure. Requests are welcomed so come with your favorites in mind.
- Cost: While there is never an admission to the socials, the Barcelona will be offering us a great $10 Buffet (with dessert, unlimited soda, coffee, tea, as well as a welcome cocktail) which includes tax BUT NOT TIP. (No pensionado discounts apply to buffet). Bonus: The bracelet you will be given which shows you paid for a buffet, will be redeemable at the casino cashier for $2 toward playing the various casino games that night only.
NOTE: The Barcelona usually offers only a buffet. However, for our Expat Party Socials they have agreed to provide us also with the menu from their Jazzy Bar Lounge for those not wanting a buffet. Orders from that menu at regular prices will honor pensionado discounts.
Directions and Parking: (If these directions seem too complicated, please just find your way to the Majestic Casino and ask any security guard in the casino, "Donde es el restaurante Barcelona por favor?") (Just make sure you don't mistake it for the Multi Plaza Mall which is located in Punta Pacifica; Multi Centro Mall is located in Punta Paitilla).
Coming by Taxi ......ask to go to the Majestic Casino Entrance (where they have valet parking) at the Multi Centro Mall; across from the Decapolis Hotel. Take the elevator up one floor. Take the left hallway towards the Casino. Pass a HUGE beautiful salt water aquarium. The front desk by the aquarium can direct you up the escalator to the Barcelona Restaurant.
From the Free parking under the Mall....take an elevator to the 4th floor. Checking the "You are Here" information signs or asking a security guard will help direct you to the Majestic Casino. Once you are there the Barcelona Restaurant is right at the entrance point to the casino on the 4th floor of the mall.
On another note...To help you stay abreast of the other Expat groups, this is the info we have...
1. Expats West Group has their social every 4th Wednesday at 5 pm Coronado at El Rincon Del Chef Restaurant. Email Honey at Hslanham@aol.com to be added to that notification list.
2. LaChorrera Expat Group meets every Thursday 5:30 - 8:00 at Leonardo's in LaChorrera. It is located on the left of the road about half way between super 99 and downtown going west; top of the hill. Email Robert at robert.ratliff@gmail.com if you have questions.

And One Last Reminder....The next PCity "Variety" Social will be November 14th at Alberto's Restaurant at the end of the Causeway.
Special Note: In the past, we have had members express concerns about the transportation out to the Causeway, thus Alberto's & Rino's (they are brothers!) have graciously offered to negotiate arrangements to provide a bus for us. This is not confirmed or finalized, however. In order to do so, we need you to let us know if this would be of interest to you. One pick-up location (Rino's), cost would be the purchase of a drink there first, and the rest is to be negotiated once we know your interest and approximate #'s.
This will be a first time for us to meet at this location. Nothing like dining and socializing out on the Causeway looking back on the city lights! A truly enjoyable evening is being planned. Invitations with more info will be sent out approximately one week prior.
