Isenhour wins Panama Championship

Golfers & GolfingPANAMA CITY, Panama (AP) -- Tripp Isenhour completed a wire-to-wire victory in the Nationwide Tour's season-opening Panama Championship on Sunday, closing with a 1-under 69 for a three-stroke victory over three players. Isenhour had an 11-under 269 total on the Panama Golf Club course. The 37-year-old former Georgia Tech player earned $99,000 for his third victory on the tour. "My first two wins were more like lightning in a bottle," Isenhour said. "Those weeks I just played well and it was my turn to win. This win is so much sweeter because of all the work we did to get to this level. "This one is better because I think I'm a more complete player now. I had ups and downs before but now I think I'm able to sustain my level of play. This one validates everything that my coach and I have been doing."

Kevin Gessino-Kraft (68), Parker McLachlin (69) and Brenden Pappas (72) tied for second at 8 under, and Jason Allred (66) followed at 7 under.

After a two-week break, the tour will resume with the Jacob's Creek Open in Australia and the New Zealand PGA. The first U.S. event is the Louisiana Open on March 23-26.
