Petaquilla confirms gold and oxide copper mineralisation at Botija Abajo, Panama LONDON (AFX) - Petaquilla Minerals Ltd said the second phase of drilling at the Botija Abajo copper gold deposit in Panama has found significant chalcocite (oxide copper) beneath epithermal gold mineralisation. The company also said the area is characterized by a sulfide-enriched, granodioritic intrusion that appears to be capped by an extensive oxide zone of copper mineralisation. Botija Abajo is owned by Minera Petaquilla SA, in which Petaquilla Copper Ltd owns a 52-pct interest. The drilling results generally confirm and add significant depth to the mineralisation defined via trenching, which had delineated strong surface gold mineralisation in the eastern half of the project area, Petaquilla Minerals added. tsm/jr
