Billy Ford Accuses Venezuela of Meddling in Panama
By Eliecer Navarro for La Estrella - The ex-vice-president of the Republic, Guillermo "Billy" Ford, said that "some neighboring governments" among them Venezuela which "want to cause alterations of the public order" in Panama. Ford made his statements on the "Enfoque" radio program transmitted yesterday by RCM Mundo. Upon being asked by journalist Dorita de Reyna if the possible return to Panama of ex-dictator Manuel Antonio Noriega could generate alterations in the public order, Ford included in his answer: "and excuse me but there is something worse; we have some neighboring governments who want alterations of the public order." Pressed to elaborate, Ford said "Venezuela is one. And excuse me, with the respect that I feel for the Venezuelans." During this interview, Ford also reiterated his intent to run for the Presidency of the Republic in 2009 under the Patriotic Union party. The ambassador of Venezuela, José Luis Perisse, said he would analyze the interview with Ford and respond today.

El ex vicepresidente de la República, Guillermo “Billy” Ford, aseguró que existen "algunos gobiernos" vecinos, entre los cuales incluyó al venezolano, que "quieren alteraciones del orden público" en Panamá.
Esta afirmación la dio al programa de entrevistas "Enfoque", transmitido ayer por RCM Mundo.
Al ser cuestionado por la periodista Dorita de Reyna sobre si el posible regreso a Panamá del ex dictador Manuel Antonio Noriega podría generar alteraciones al orden público, Ford incluyó en su respuesta: "Y perdóname, hay algo peor: tenemos algunos gobiernos vecinos que quieren alteraciones del orden público".
Ante la insistencia de la entrevistadora para que identificara a esos gobiernos, Ford contestó: "Venezuela es uno. Perdóname, con el respeto que yo siento por los venezolanos". Durante esta entrevista, Ford también reiteró su anuencia a correr por la Presidencia de la República en las elecciones de 2009 por el partido Unión Patriótica. El embajador de Venezuela, José Luis Perisse, señaló que analizaría la entrevista a Ford para responder el día de hoy.
