Canada's soccer friendly moved to Fort Lauderdale

Sports SectionOTTAWA - Canada and Panama will now meet on neutral ground for an international soccer friendly next month. The Canadian men were scheduled to play in Panama City on June 6, but the game, which is closed to the public, has been moved to June 4 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The friendly is part of a busy schedule for the Canadians heading into their first round of qualifying for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. The Canadians play a friendly against Brazil on May 31 in Seattle before departing for Florida. They open World Cup qualifying with a two-match set against St. Vincent and the Grenadines, playing in Kingstown on June 15 and at home in Montreal on June 20. If Canada wins the two-game series, the team will advance to the next stage scheduled for August to November, with three home games and three road games.
