The Crazy Horse Showclub
By David Rush for Panama-Guide.com - There is a new hot spot in the adult nightlife market - The Crazy Horse Panama. It's located in El Dorado, which is less than 10 minutes from almost anywhere in the city. Several taxis had no problem getting there for me and a few friends. There's several other clubs in the area, but none with this approach to adult entertainment in Panama. They’ve put together American-style adult entertainment with a Latin flavor. The club is couples friendly and interaction with the entertainers while on stage and off is encouraged. The Crazy Horse is open Monday thru Saturday starting at 8pm until the last customers has left. The staff is bilingual and they’ve got one of the most stocked bars I’ve seen in Panama. I would definitely recommend checking out this establishment and enjoying the atmosphere. 
I found the place easily enough using the map on the flyer I was given in Obarrio. The same map is available on their web site www.TheCrazyHorsePanama.com. They are located behind the Fantastic Casino and above the BBQ Sports restaurant. The parking lot was crowded, but the valet/doorman quickly found me a spot and helped me get parked. The entrance is located at the top of a flight of stairs and could take a second to locate if you are unsure where to go. Just look for the big white signs.
The doorman and host that greeted me upon entering the club both spoke English and were very helpful. When I entered the club, I immediately spotted the bar. As this was my first time there, I figured it would be a good place to start. It seems that the girls enjoy the bar area too. There were several situated there that greeted me with big smiles and a couple kisses on the cheeks.
I inquired about the drink prices and was told all beers are $4 and mixed drinks start at $6 with top shelf liquors at $7. They carry some popular American liquors that are not always found at Panamanian bars including Crown Royal and Jagermiester (two of my favorites). Bottle service is also available and very reasonably priced. I grabbed a Crown and ginger and surveyed the room.
They have a dancer on stage continuously and occasionally 2 girls will perform together. The DJ spoke Spanish with a lot of English mixed in. There was some Latin dance and Reggaeton music being played but with a lot of English pop or rock mixed in. This is a welcomed change from the usual Electronica then ballad format I hear at most other clubs. The volume was just right, not too loud as is another regular problem with nightclubs in Panama. I was told by the floor host that they try to play music that the customers would like to hear most.
I spotted at least a dozen entertainers either on stage, sitting with guys or at the bar. When I asked about the number of girls available, I was told they have 20 girls now. It is a new club and supposedly, there are 20 more on the way. The girls were available for $10 table dances and they have a VIP room where dances are $30. The girls get fully nude in the VIP and like everywhere else in the club, touching and interaction are encouraged. There’s also a brand new room in the VIP where “full service” is available for $90 per hour and I’m told that they’re building 5 more. This is great because if you’d just like to spend some quick time with a girl or girls, you don’t need to pay to take her out or have anywhere to take her. What a welcome change from the US and Canada. I was also told that you can get a Jacuzzi show that was 2 songs long. I’m not sure what that is, but it sounds like fun.
Another welcome change is that all of the girls in The Crazy Horse are available to take out with you (for whatever you please). For those of you who are not familiar with Panama adult nightlife, strip clubs are more a preview of what you could have by simply choosing which lady you’d like to take home. All you need to do is decide and then notify any of the floor hosts or waitresses, who will happily help you with anything else you’d like to know. At The Crazy Horse, you’ll pay a less than usual bar fee of $100 to take the girl out for the night and then you can bargain with the girl herself for how much she’d like for anything else. In Panama, clubs are the only licensed, safe and truly legal option. I was told that these girls are tested weekly for all STDs and you never have to worry about one stealing from you, as the club is only a quick call away.
The girls were friendly and quicker than other places to approach you and start a conversation. Several caught my eye as being especially beautiful and most seemed to be having a good time. The girls there have a feel of being less rough and ‘experienced’ than in other clubs. They were more relaxed and easy to get along with. Several actually spoke a little English too and one told me that the club gives them English lessons.
The club itself is on the small side and at first seemed cramped but after sitting there a while it seemed cozier and wasn’t confined space wise. I enjoyed the comfortable couches that line both walls and had a perfect view of the stage. The girls were not overly aggressive and I received several table dances that were enjoyable.
Overall, it’s a nice club with a good change of pace for the Panama strip club scene. There were very few negatives that I saw and I am sure those will work themselves out as their customer base continues to grow and the club has time to work out the kinks. No cover charge or drink minimum was a welcome plus too as some other clubs have gone crazy with what they’re charging at the door or for cheap beer and booze. The Crazy Horse is definitely worth a visit and a good place to bring the boys or even the wife or girlfriend, if she enjoys a night out.
