"Kung Fu Panda" - Lawmaker Hugo Fanovich Kicking Locked Doors

By Denise Lara for Telemetro Reporta - After videotape aired showing National Assemblyman from the Panameñista party Hugo Fanovich kicking the door to the National Assembly, he decided to provide an explanation. Fanovich told Telemetro Reporta that the action was "an act of demonstration to show the people that the doors of the National Assembly should be open to the community." The unexpected act occurred when a group of activists who reject the recently passed security decrees were prevented from entering the National Assembly building. (Comments Follow) Editor's Comment: They are now calling this National Assemblyman, Hugo Fanovich, the "Kung Fu Panda" - partly because of the kick to the door, and partly because he kinda looks like the panda in the movie. There was a group of protesters who wanted to get into the National Assembly session yesterday to protest and make noise while the National Assembly tried to consider or discuss the recently approved Executive Decrees related to reforms of the National Security apparatus of the Panamanian state government. The people at the National Assembly knew they were coming so they locked the doors with a chain. "Kung Fu Panda" Hugo Fanovich, who is a member of the opposition Panameñista party, wanted the protesters to come in, so he went out to support their cause, kicking the door in the process. Eventually the doors were opened and the protesters were allowed in (and as predicted, the National Assembly got nothing done.) Life goes on... Anyway, that's what happened.
