Yellow Fever Vaccination to Enter or Leave Panama?

By DON WINNER for Panama-Guide.com - There's a Spanish language email making the rounds in Panama which claims that as of 1 October 2008 it will become mandatory for anyone entering or leaving Panama to have a current Yellow Fever vaccination. This email has the makings of a hoax in that there is no official reference or contact information for whatever agency or organization is supposed to be enforcing this new requirement. The last time I went around the flagpole on this Yellow Fever thing, with regards to the prevalence of Yellow Fever in Panama, the word from disease control experts was that in order to become infected you would basically have to travel deep into the jungle and mud wrestle with monkeys (so, don't do that.) I will be following up on this and checking it out, but in the meantime I wanted to toss it out there to see if anyone else had heard something similar. And, if it's true, to get verification and to let people know as soon as possible. Thanks for the heads-up, Art.
