Illinois Corn Producers See Progress in Panama
Illinois Farm Bureau - RFD Radio's Tricia Braid Terry has been in Central America this week as part of a delegation from the Illinois Corn Marketing Board visiting Guatemala and Panama to see firsthand some of the export development projects happening in the region. Earlier this week, the U.S. ambassador to Guatemala Stephen McFarlane told the group that the major market for U.S. grains in Guatemala will continue to be yellow corn, which is the primary ingredient for the animal feed industry. "The U.S. will continue to be the main agricultural trading partner for CAFTA-DR countries given our geographical proximity, historical ties and competitive advantage in agricultural production," he said. We have an audio report with Tricia Braid Terry from Panama City, Panama. Click on the file below to listen.
