Correction - Make That "Joseph Erwin Cover"

Joseph Erwin Cover and his Wife Melany - Fugitives From Justice
By DON WINNER for - When I started looking into the details surrounding the scumbag who used my name to steal more than $44,000 dollars from other members of the English speaking expatriate community here in Panama, I was first passed some information verbally over a cell phone and the details got a little twisted in the conversation. "RJ Erwin" is an alias being used by "Joseph Erwin Cover" I had gotten it wrong originally - I thought I heard his real name was "Jonathan" but it's actually "Joseph." No matter - more details are pouring in as we speak. For example, his US passport number is 205895356, which is going to come in very handy with the folks at immigration to check his international movements and travel. This guy lived and worked in the area of Boquete for about a year using the name "Richard Cover" (Richard is his father's name). And the "RJ Erwin" alias apparently comes from "Richard Joseph" and his middle name "Erwin." Anyway, his real name is Joseph Erwin Cover, and the investigation continues, as it will until this guy and his wife are in jail where they belong.

I too met this guy in Boquete last summer. He lived in the apartment next door to me. He told me he was from Philly and had a wife with triplets who was to join him in Panama soon. He then hooked up with Melanie and shared the apartment with her for a couple of months. He told me his wife would not be coming after all. He worked at the REMAX office in Boquete and got in a disagreement with the owner over refunding a deposit to a buyer he sold a pre construction condo to.
The buyer ultimately passed away due to a stroke. He had borrowed money from him and his wife prior to moving to the Coronado area.
He also tried to borrow 10k from me before leaving. Luckily I declined his request as he always seemed a little off center to me.
