Mariano Rivera Picks Up Save #29 For This Season

Sports Section By DON WINNER for Panama-Guide.com - The star closer for the New York Yankees, Panamanian Mariano Rivera, picked up save #29 for this season on 26 July against Oakland. He now has 511 career saves and remains in second place lifetime, 65 saves behind Trevor Hoffman who has 576. Just think, in about two years Hoffman will be retired and Mariano Rivera will close in on the record, first tie and then pass Hoffman. This feat, when he finally gets there, will make Mariano Rivera a household name all over the world. He's famous now because of his killer cut fastball. But this record will stand for a long, long time.
