28 Bus Drivers Test Positive For Drugs In New Screenings

Cars & Transportation TVN Noticias - Urine samples taken from twenty eight bus drivers who were working in the area of Panama City tested positive for the presence of drugs in screenings carried conducted in a joint operation between the ATTT authorities and the National Police yesterday. Of these, 25 were positive for cocaine and 3 for marijuana, according to the official report. Bus drivers who tested positive were found working from the bus terminals in Veracruz, Alcalde Díaz, Arraiján, Don Bosco, Felipillo, Veranillo, Juan Díaz and Tocumen. Meanwhile, the bus drivers who were working from the bus terminals in Los Andes, Chorrera and Pacora had no positive results. Additionally, the leader of the Pedregal bus terminal, Dionel Borce, said that there are two cases of drivers who tested positive in the government tests, but that a second test performed within 24 hours at a private clinic returned negative results. "The controls they are doing, are poorly done, because they announce that drivers are coming back positive, but no one knows who they are or what bus terminal they belong to," said the bus union leader, who disagrees with the testing because he has no confidence in the results.
