Rep. John Culberson supports Rep. Ralph Hall, despite Hall rival's use of photo

Expat Tales By Todd J. Gillman for the Dallas Morning News - This is not an endorsement. The latest wrinkle in the Ralph Hall congressional race is a bit of unabashed name dropping by an opponent in the GOP primary. Challenger Jerry Ray Hall sent out a press release today arguing that the longtime incumbent, who is the oldest member of the U.S. House, needs to retire -- and if voters pick him, he can hit the ground running. "Jerry already has many Texas politicians as friends," the announcement says. "Jerry' [sic] contacts encompass friends in the Senate and Congress, Senator John Cornyn, Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison, Congressman John Culberson, Congressman Mac Thornberry, Congressman Ron Paul, and many other elected officials. Jerry doesn't need to start from scratch learning who can help, he already knows making him the most experienced and connected candidate." To illustrate the point, the announcement includes a photo of Jerry Ray Hall with Culberson, a Houston lawmaker -- implying an endorsement or at least some level of support which, it turns out, isn't the case. "Ralph Hall is a close personal friend and a great Congressman. He has my full support in the upcoming primary elections," Culberson said through an aide. Asked about the photo, Jerry Ray Hall said of Culberson. "I have not asked him for his support as of yet he probably would hold off because Ralph is still running. He is just a good friend over many years."

Don, would you be so kind as to refer any press to my Yahoo group "panamascams"? There is additional information there that they might want to follow up on.
