5.7 Earthquake in Bocas del Toro? Really?

EarthquakesAn earthquake of 5.7 degrees on Richter scale occurred in Bocas del Toro causing no damage or casualties, according to the National Civil Protection System. Gladys Concepcion, of the SINAPROC office in Bocas del Toro, revealed the quake was also felt in the mountainous area of Teribe, but no damage was reported. Leonardo Machuca, a correspondent for TVN in Bocas del Toro, stated this is the second tremor in Bocas del Toro so far this month and the twelfth so far this year. (TVN Noticias)

Editor's Comment: That's strange. This earthquake is not being reported by the US Geological Survey or Panama's Instituto de Geociencias. I submitted a copy of the TVN news report to the USGS, asking them to confirm. Did any of you guys up there in Bocas feel this one?

Maybe it was way off the coast? I am here and didn't feel a thing. BTW, it's been absolutely gorgeous here since we arrived from the city on Thursday.
