Immigration Officials Arrested in Human Smuggling Sting
A supervisor and an inspector of the National Immigration Service (SNM) were arrested yesterday morning by officers of the Judicial Investigation Department at the Tocumen International Airport. The officials trying to bring four Chinese citizens into the country illegally, according to the Director of Immigration, María Cristina González. In another operation, in Parque Lefevre, a Colombian citizen was arrested who had in his possession a jacket, a cap, and receipts from the National Immigration Service. (La Prensa)
