Government Working To Reduce Overcrowding in Prisons

Panama News The Minister of Government Roxana Mendez, said on RPC Radio that overcrowding will disappear in prisons in the country, and in order to achieve this goal they will request support from a technical board composed of social workers, experts for training workshops, psychologists and lawyers. Similarly Mendez said they would ask for aid from entities such as the National Institute for Human Development (INADEH), the National Institute of Culture (INAC), and PANDEPORTES, among others. The official added that they have acquired rolling equipment such as ambulances and they have a plan for improvements for the Fire Department. She added that they are evaluating the use of additional credit (loans) in order to reduce overcrowding in prisons as soon as possible. (La Estrella)

Maybe they should try running some of the 60% of people that haven't even been tried for their crime through te justice system and get the innocent people out of jail.
