Two New Full Casinos Granted Licenses in Panama

Nightlife, Bars, and PartyingThe Gaming Control Board (JCJ) endorsed the opening of two new full casinos in Panama City, which will join the 16 already operating in the country. One of these two new casinos - the Gold Lion Casino - is related to the family of Gabriel Btesh, a businessman who has close ties to the current administration. Spokesmen from the JCJ argued that the casino, located in El Dorado, meets all of the requirements established by law, and announced it will not put limits on this activity (gambling) which moves over one billion dollars per year in wagers. Last June, Btesh was also favored - with a direct contract - with leases worth $426,000 dollars annually. (La Prensa)
