Two lanes of the Bridge of the Americas will be closed starting tomorrow until Thursday August 25 due to repair work to be done by the Ministry of Public Works (MOP). The construction work will begin at 10:00 pm and continue until 4:00 am, and the two outer lanes of the bridge will be closed, however the center sections will remain in operation. This closure is due to work to place equipment that will measure the arch of the center part of the bridge in order to keep it in optimal condition and thus provide security for the growing number of users who daily use this important structure and path to their destinations. The MOP also indicated traffic flow will be suspended in full for 15 minutes every night to make measurements and prevent vibrations from affecting the measurements. (Panama America)
