NFL Football Season Starts Tonight - Green Bay vs. Saints

By DON WINNER for Panama-Guide.com - Yeah, sure, whatever - Panamanian politics, blah blah blah. Second round this, illegal recordings of conversations, fire some dude, this talking head says this..., that talking head thinks that..., whatever. The only really important thing happening today is the kickoff of the 2011-12 National Football League season. At 8:30 pm EST (7:30 pm local Panama time) the Green Bay Packers - winners of Superbowl XLV (Feb 2011) - face off against the New Orleans Saints - winners of Superbowl XLIV (Feb 2010). Green Bay is a 4.5 point favorite, and they are the home team with the game being played at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Thankfully since this first game of the season is being played in early September, weather for the game is predicted to be perfect - a balmy 75 degrees, clear, winds NE at 8 mph, humidity: 51%. In other words - like New Orleans in the middle of January. For us football fans, it's been a very long summer. Now it's time for beer, chicken wings, and touchdowns. Life is good. For the record, I'll be at the Superbook watching the game. See you there.
