US Beats Panama in First Round of Baseball World Cup, Qualifies For Second Round
#Panama - By DON WINNER for Panama-Guide.com - The United States handed Panama their second defeat this afternoon, beating them 5-0 at the Rod Carew stadium in Panama City. With this win the United States advances to the second round in fourth place. Canada, the Netherlands and Panama advance as well, while Puerto Rico, Japan, Chinese Taipei and Greece were all eliminated. In Group 2 Cuba, Venezuela, South Korea, and Australia all advance to the second round, while the Dominican Republic, Italy, Nicaragua, and Germany are all eliminated. The second round games will be played this week, and the final is scheduled for Saturday, 15 October 2011 at the Rod Carew stadium in Panama City.
