2011 Baseball World Cup Finishing Today in Panama

Sports Section #Panama - By DON WINNER for Panama-Guide.com - The 2011 Baseball World Cup being played in Panama is winding down today, and some of the final results are in. The game scheduled for this afternoon between the United States and Canada - teams currently tied for third place, to determine the Bronze Medal and 4th place finishers - was cancelled due to rain. Later today the Netherlands will play Cuba for the Gold and Silver medals. Among the rest of the field, finishing in:
  • 5th - Australia
  • 6th - South Korea
  • 7th - Venezuela
  • 8th - Panama
  • 9th - Dominican Republic
  • 10th - Puerto Rico
  • 11th - Italy
  • 12th - Japan
  • 13th - Chinese Taipei
  • 14th - Nicaragua
  • 15th - Germany
  • 16th - Greece

I wonder what idiot had the idea to organize a baseball tournament in a country like Panama during the WET SEASON.

I am Cuban-American and will cheer for any team that plays against the Castro cuban team...Remember, Cuba is supposed to play amateur baseball only; but in reality, their players are full blown professionals...that's the reason they play so well.....too bad USA lost against Cuba....but love the Dutch team's victory vs Cuba...r
