Truck Carrying Jet Fuel Crashes on Panama - Colon Highway

The highway from Panama City to Colon, from kilometer 13 to kilometer 48, is closed because a tanker truck owned by the company Panamá Truck collided with a guardrail at kilometer 39. The tanker was carrying A1 jet fuel for aircraft, a valve was damaged in the accident causing the fuel to spill. Fire fighters from the area of Colon are on the scene and cleaning up the affected area, a job which could take three to four hours. They are waiting for those responsible for the truck to transport the fuel in a safe manner. The incident occurred at approximately 8:00 am today, Saturday. Vehicles are being diverted to the Boyd Roosevelt highway (Transístmica). (Panama America)
