The Fire Department of the Republic of Panama has formally received 33 new trucks from the national government, which will be distributed in Bocas del Toro, Chiriqui, Veraguas, Los Santos, Herrera, Cocle and Panama. The investment for the acquisition of this new fleet was more than $11.8 million dollars, and includes five new ambulances and 21 pickup trucks. The new vehicles were on display Sunday night as part of the fire department's parade, but the formal act of delivery took place on Monday. They have foam dispensing capability for fuel and chemical spills, equipment for spreading water on upper floors, and large capacity storage tanks, among other features. (Telemetro)
