American Dies On Sailboat in Colon Of Apparent Heart Attack
On Wednesday morning the lifeless body of the American citizen Douglas Gene Michalowski was found inside of his yacht the "Bluenose." Michalowski was last seen on Tuesday night after sharing the company of sea adventurers. The deceased was sitting with his head down so his face was disfigured due to the accumulation of blood in the area of his head. The ship, police said, remained anchored in the bay of Manzanillo, in Colon. Michalowski, who lived in Denver, Colorado (USA), and according to reports from the owners of the boat, the night before his death he said he felt chest pains, but the funny thing is he did not die on his own boat, but on another. The American, according to Immigration documents, made his last journey from Cartagena de Indias, in Colombia, and then later he came to the port of El Porvenir, in Kuna Yala, Panama, then he moved along the coast of the province of Colon. Editor's Comment: It looks like this man - Douglas Gene Michalowski - might have run from the United States back in about 2003 or so. There's some reporting by the Aspen Free Press by Sterling Greenwood from April 2003, and it looks like Michalowski could be running away from some problems with the law in Aspen and Denver, Colorado. Members for the boating community, please fill in the blanks - don@panama-guide.com - as you always do with these kinds of situations. Who was Douglas Gene Michalowski? Was his boat the "Bluenose"? What boat did he die on? What happened? Thanks.
