A company in China built a brand new 30 story building in just 15 days. The trick (obviously) that the whole thing was prefabricated, so they just trucked it in and bolted the thing together. So, in reality, they spent a whole lot longer than 15 days to make all of the parts and pieces - but the assembly was quick. According to the promotional materials it's designed to withstand an earthquake measuring 9 on the Richter scale, it's 5 times more energy efficient, with 20 times cleaner air inside of the building (recirculated and triple filtered.) Anyway, it's a cool time lapse video, and maybe someone here in Panama might want to consider implementing this technology. My question - what's the price per meter, installed (including materials, shipping, manpower, etc.) but not the it sits on. If they can get it down below the current $800 per square meter or so cost to build a traditional poured cement structure in Panama, then they might have a winner.
