To All New Panama Guide Readers - Welcome Aboard!

By DON WINNER for Panama-Guide.com - After the CBS 48 Hours Mystery show aired last Saturday night, traffic to my website has more than doubled. I expected a brief and large spike followed by a trailing off, with about a 15% increase on the other side - mostly because that's what happened in 2010 after the airing of the Wild Bill story on NBC. However apparently the CBS program reached a whole lot of people. The expected "spike" occurred, but now by Wednesday, four days after the show aired, the spike is leveling off at a level significant to a doubling of my normal website traffic. According to the website "TV By The Numbers":

Generated New Panama Guide Readers: I watch the traffic and statistics for my website pretty closely, to the point where I know what I can expect as a normal level of traffic for any particular day of the week or time of day. And now it appears that there are thousands of new readers who are visiting the website every day. I just wanted to take a moment to say "welcome aboard" and thanks for coming. This website tends to be somewhat "sticky" - meaning, people who find it return frequently, and use Panama Guide as their trusted source of English language news for current events in the Republic of Panama. Over the years I've developed my own style for writing and reporting the news, and people seem to like it, so that's what I do. Feel free to sign up for an account on the website - required in order to post comments to the articles - because I enjoy and value input from my readers. I cover what I can and also take requests when possible via email (don@panama-guide.com). And for the record, my readers rock, best in the world, bar none. So welcome aboard, and have a look around.
