Violent Youth Gang Leaders Arrested in Rio Abajo

The Third Superior Prosecutor ordered yesterday, Friday, the investigation of these three subjects. "Nata" and "Hierroncito" opted for Article 25 of the Constitution, meaning they will not testify against themselves during this investigation. While "Moi", the leader of the criminal organization operating in Calle 17 of Rio Abajo, did not appear in the offices of the prosecutor during the inquiry process, according to sources linked to investigations.
The KTN gang members have maintained an armed conflict for more than three years with another criminal gang which operates on Calle 6, 7, 8 and 9 in Rio Abajo, a turf battle over territory for the sale of illicit substances, as recorded in a intelligence report of the National Police. The data reveals in the last year there have been 14 violent situations, including killings of gang members and innocents who reside in that sector of Panama City.
On 22 December last year, the teacher Gonzalez was killed by subjects who entered into Calle 6 of Rio Abajo in a taxi, and opened fire with an AK-47 outside of her apartment, killing her.
