Labor Ministry Shuts Down Construction At Hydro Electric Project Citing Safety Concerns After Worker's Accidental Death
Chiriqui - The Ministry of Labor and Workforce Development (Mitradel) ordered this Thursday, May 10, the stoppage of work at the Cilsa hydro electric project, after detecting low levels of safety and security at the job site, said Juliet Guerra, a director of that entity. "There is an imminent danger to the life and health of the workers," said Guerra. The suspension of work at the project job site came after the death of the construction worker Anibal Arauz Gonzalez, who died last night, Wednesday, when a concrete mixer machine hose threw him against some steel rebar, causing his death.
