You Can Check On Line To See Unpaid Traffic Tickets in Panama

By DON WINNER for Panama-Guide.com - Anyone with a Panamanian driver's license can go online to check on the status of both current or past traffic tickets and infractions. Just surf to www.licencia.com.pa/historial/ and enter the requested information. This website is owned and operated by the Land Transit and Transportation Authority (ATTT) and it contains the official status of your "account" with them. In my case I entered my personal identification (cedula) number in the top section, and then in the bottom section I entered date of birth, date of expiration on my driver's license, then the "control" number which is printed vertically on the right hand edge of your driver's license itself. The information came up instantly, and it was current and correct. You can see any current or old tickets - in my case there were old entries there going back to 2004. It also shows how many points are currently on your license, if any. This is a handy tool you can use to see exactly what is in the system about you and the status of your license.
