Arrested For Selling Pirated CD's - Wanted For Rape
A 19-year-old, who was arrested by units of the Judicial Investigation Department of the National Police, during an operation against pirated CD vendors, was wanted by judicial authorities for two other crimes. It turns out he was wanted for "crimes against decency and sexual freedom" (rape), which was found once his identify was verified using the Pele Police handheld data system. During this action another citizen was also arrested, 22 years old, and between them the authorities seized more than one hundred pirated discs. The two were arrested as they were selling the discs on Via Transistmica. Importantly, both offenders were sent directly to a prison because they are repeat offenders in intellectual property crimes.
