PRD Getting Ready For Delegate Elections

Politics The National Elections Commission of the PRD political party successfully conducted the draw for the selection of 4,200 delegates that will be held on 8 July 2012 in all areas of organization. There were drawings for the circuits 8-1, 8-2, 8-3, 8-4, 8-5, 8-6, 8-8, 8-9, 8-10 in the province of Panama, as well as Coclé, Herrera, Los Santos, Bocas del Toro, Chiriquí 2, Veraguas and the Comarca Guna Yala. Today, Saturday, 2 June 2012, the drawing for Circuit 8-7 will be verified at the headquarters of the PRD at 11:00 am, and at the Culture House of David in Chiriqui 1, at 10:00 am, with the participation of President of the Commission on Elections, Rodolfo Stanziola. This week the National Election Commission completed the recruitment of electoral boards and the teams that will lead the elections to be held on 8 July 2012. For the first week of June they are planning a national tour led by the National Commissioners where they will install the teams in their areas, and deliver the logistics necessary to conduct the voting. Editor's Comment: I believe this draw was to select the order in which the various candidates will appear on the ballots. These 4,200 convention delegates will be elected on 8 July 2012, and then they will attend a convention on 26 August 2012, during which they will select the new National Executive Committee of the PRD. Then later in early 2013 the PRD will hold their primary election to select their presidential candidate for the 2014 elections.
