Big Story For The Day - Panama vs. Cuba Tonight (Soccer)

Sports SectionBy DON WINNER for Panama-Guide.com - Tonight the Panama men's national soccer team will play Cuba at the Rommel Fernández stadium. This is the second of six games Panama will play as part of the third round of qualification games in the CONCACAF elimination tournament, in trying to win a spot to play in the FIFA World Cup Brazil 2014. Last Friday Panama beat Honduras 2-0 on the road, securing a very important three points in the first of six games in the third round, and they also are now at a +2 goal differential which might turn out to be important later if a tiebreaker situation arises. Panama is practically "expected" to beat the hell out of Cuba tonight, and it would be even better if they could run up the score and improve the goal differential number even more. Panama City is vibrating in anticipation because they can feel it - the men's team has probably never been better, and Panama has never before qualified for the World Cup. This is the year, it's in the air. Also playing tonight in Group C - Canada vs. Honduras, with the game being played in Canada. The best result for Panama would be if Honduras wins because that would dilute both Honduras and Canada, giving them both one win and one loss and preventing another team from arising to challenge them for first place in Group C. Every television screen in Panama will be tuned in to watch the game tonight. So if you want to watch the game and celebrate with the Panamanians, you'd better learn how to "move like Bernie" ...
