Panama Travel Unlimited opened itís doorís less than a year ago and has fast become one of Panamaís leading tour and travel agencies. After spending a number of years living, working and owning businesses in the Panamanian tourism sector two expats, Will from Wales and Stuart from Australia, noticed there was a real need for a full service tour and travel agency providing the quality and levels of customer service foreign visitors to Panama expect while maintaining reasonable prices. Panama Travel Unlimited initially opened offering a budget friendly Panama City airport shuttle service and from there started operating day tours in and around Panama City to some of Panamaís premier tourist attractions such as the Panama Canal, Casco Viejo, Portobelo, Isla Grande, Fuerte San Lorenzo, El Valle and the beautiful Pacific coast beaches. Once the Panama City shuttle service and Panama Pity day tours were up and running the next logical step was to develop tours in the beautiful San Blas islands of Panama. (more)

After 6 years working in tourism in Panama Stuart and Will have made excellent contacts in San Blas and had noticed that many tourists found it hard to find reliable information about the San Blas islands with their amazing beaches and indigenous population. Their day tours of the San Blas Islands in Panama are a popular offering where you get to visit islands such as Isla Aguja, Isla Diablo and the popular Isla Perro, site of the famous San Blas ship wreck. On the day tour you will also visit a local Kuna community to get an insight into everyday life in Kuna Yala. They also offer an exclusive Panama Travel Unlimited three-day San Blas camping tour which explores the Lemon Keys islands as well as a unique day trip to the remote and not often visited Cayos Holandeses, a stretch of islands often difficult and expensive to visit.

For those looking for something with a bit more comfort overnight stays on the beach islands Isla Kuanidup, Isla Aguja, or a host of other islands are possible. Isla Kuanidup is one of the most popular destinations and the photos will show you why, its well organized and set in a stunning location with one of the most beautiful beaches. They offer day tours, good food and a quality of service above the norm in San Blas. For those more interested in the local Kuna culture then stays at Hostal Nadi, Cabanas Gabayai (owned by the local Kuna government) or a traditional homestay in Carti may be your thing. The Panama Travel Unlimited website has in depth descriptions and photo galleries on almost every Hotel/Cabana operation in the San Blas islands and gives you honest advice and feedback on what to expect and what not to expect.

Travel to the San Blas can be difficult with the main airport El Porvenir closed for renovations. Almost all clients to the region now travel with the Kuna controlled private transport company that has special licenses to enter the region. Itís a 2-3 hr trip through the stunning mountain jungles, but can be taxing with up to 7 passengers in the vehicle. Unfortunately this is the only way in or out currently. Panama Travel do their best to provide clients with the most comfortable vehicles available. Some of the more luxurious Hotels are found further South in the Island chain such as Dad Ibe Lodge and these are accessed by flying to one of the airports in the region. They can help arrange this, book in advance as flight availability is limited.

A word of caution when making a booking in the San Blas Islands, Panama. In reality you are entering a different country where few Panamanian laws are adhered to and service may be below what you expect. Only Kunas are allowed to conduct business in the islands and their customs and service ethic may differ greatly from what you are used to. Panama Travel has done its best to find the best operators in the islands and what they offer cannot be beaten on price or service. But we must also acknowledge that once you enter the Kuna Yala region it is out of thier hands. Go with an open mind and you should have a wonderful time in these idyllic islands.

They are very flexible with their tours and can work with the client in arranging any tour they would like; as long as a guide and a vehicle are available they are happy to work on any itinerary to suit the clientís needs. The Airport shuttle service is one of the cheapest in Panama and they aim to keep it that way. Available 24hrs a day it is a safe and reliable service and can cater to clients wishing to go to any of the Pacific Beach resorts, Colon Port, Portobelo, Isla Grande and many other destinations to and from Panamaís Tocumen International airport. In keeping with their commitment to provide a complete package of services for tourists travelling throughout Panama, Panama Travel Unlimited has also recently announced the opening of their first branch office in the popular Panamanian mountain town of Boquete. Operating from the same office as Boquete Mountain Safaris(on the Boquete main road, metres from the town square), the Panama Travel Unlimited office in Boquete aims to fill what has long been a gap in the market in Boquete. Travelers looking to find information on tours in San Blas as well as tours and hotel accommodation in Panama City itself have often been left to fend for themselves in Boquete. Now there is an office where they can sit and talk first hand to a travel consultant with immediate up to date information on what is available in terms of tours and hotels in San Blas, Panama City and other areas around Panama. If the consultant there happens to not know some information then they are connected directly to the Panama City office via the SKYPE chat service and able to find out whatever they need to know in real time. Often you will find that itís Will or Stuart themselves available to answer your harder questions. If you happen to find yourself in Boquete then feel free to drop by and say hi.
