Supreme Court Appointments Already Referred To National Assembly

Law & Lawyers The Executive Body referred to the National Assembly the appointments of Arturo Ulises Vallarino Bartuano, Anabelle Padilla Lozano and Lilia Constancia Herrera as Supreme Court Justices for the Fifth Chamber of Institutions of Guarantee for ratification. The Executive sent the note to the Assembly which reports the contents of Resolution No. 58 approved by Cabinet, for them to start of the necessary formalities for ratification. The Board also referred Executive Decree No. 390 which added Numerals to the only Article contained in Executive Decree No. 383 of June 5, 2012, through which they extended the extraordinary sessions of the National Assembly, convened by the Executive; incorporating the ratification of the judges in the topics. In this way they confirm the appointments of the three judges for the Fifth Chamber, because last night the Ministry of Communication of the State told TVN News it was unofficial information. (TVN)

Editor's Comment: The band-aid technique. Martinelli knows this move will be controversial, so he wants to appoint them (surprise!) and have them ratified by the National Assembly as quickly as possible, probably over the weekend. By the time everyone wakes up on Monday morning it will be a done deal. Just one quick "yank" and it's all over. Then anyone who wants to bitch, moan, complain, or protest will be arguing against a done deal - "nos futui vos dormientes."
