Possibly More Severe Weather On The Way From The West

WeatherBy DON WINNER for Panama-Guide.com - Hang on to your hats, guys. The forecasters at the ETESA weather center are issuing warnings of possibly even stronger storms coming into Panama City from the West. They say the heavy rains that fell during the early afternoon on Thursday in Panama City, which knocked down trees and caused windshield smashing hail, were produced by a tropical wave in the Caribbean near Panama. Emmanuel Velasquez, a meteorologist for ETESA said a tropical wave moved through the Northern part of Panama on Thursday morning coupled with the normal daytime heating led to the development of these storms. He said these storms will continue in the Western part of the country. He said the radar during the afternoon showed heavy rains would also be recorded in Arraiján, La Chorrera and as far as Coclé. He also said strong gusts of wind spread with great intensity. So far they have received reports of hail in Tocumen and the Costa del Este.

Editor's Comment: I watched the animated satellite image on the ETESA website, and it looks to me like the strong storms are continuing to develop to the West of Panama City, and they will be coming this way. I think we already went through round one, and there's more on the way.
