Radio Talk Show Host's Car Set On Fire In Response To Politically Charged Allegations
A commentator who has a radio show in the city of Chitre, Herrera Province, reported his car was burned and he said members of the Democratic Change political party were responsible. The situation occurred at about 2:00 am and according to Jorge Royo, the complainant, it was done in response to allegations made through his radio program, in which he has criticized the layoffs that have been made in the office of the Governor in Chitre. The complainant pointed towards a Deputy in the National Assembly and the Governor as being responsible, and he also said he has received telephone calls. He filed a complaint after the incident.
