Olga Cardenas, who is a member of the Women's Committee of El Chorrillo and a leader of the Democratic Revolutionary Party (PRD), said they don't want any more violence within the party. She made these statements in response to recent events in San Miguelito, where there was an incident in which the lawyer Gilberto Pinzon was murdered, who was a candidate for Representative, and the sister of National Assembly Deputy Raul Pineda, Anneth Pineda, was injured. She also summoned the members of the PRD to come out to vote on Sunday July 8, but in peace and tranquility among the members, "we are a party of combat and action, we don't waste time crying, but rather we have proposals to work better," she said. On 8 July 2012 the PRD will be holding a party-wide internal election to select 4,200 convention delegates, with all party members voting. Then in August these newly elected delegates will vote to select the new National Executive Committee of the PRD. (Telemetro)
