Mayor And Vice Mayor of Anton Might Be Removed From Office
At any moment the governor of the province of Cocle, Fernando Nuñez Fabrega, could appoint a new mayor in the district of Antón, if the prosecutor orders the separation of the mayor and vice mayor of this district for having abused their offices. A week ago, the former Justice of the Peace of Rio Hato, Melquicidec Bernal sued the mayor and vice mayor of Anton and asked for their separation from office, for having illegally dismissed him, and he sought compensation for up to ten thousand dollars. The Mayor said he has not yet been notified of the demand, while the Governor of Cocle said if these two officials have to be separated (the Mayor and Deputy Mayor) he would do it, because that is allowed under the law until the problem is resolved in the judicial sphere.
