Punta Pacifica Safe Crackers Caught

Crime & PunishmentA man and a woman were arrested by detectives of the Judicial Investigation Department of the National Police after allegedly stealing two safes from two different apartments, located in Punta Pacifica, with a total of $100,800 dollars between cash and jewelry. The capture of the suspects occurred in Panama City when a search warrant was executed, and during the search detectives found a camera that was part of the stolen merchandise, as well as tools such as hammers, chisels and screwdrivers used to commit the crime. It was learned the thefts occurred on 23 May and 15 June 2012, and the suspects were turned over to the Public Ministry for further investigation. (Critica)

If the burglars managed to get in using those tools, they must have had cheap fire safes.

Those tools wouldn't allow access to a gun safe bought at a sporting goods store.

If you have a safe in your house, never let anybody now, keep it in a closet, securely bolted.

What kind of safes are there in Panama that all you need is a couple of screw drivers and a hammer to be a safe cracker? ;>}
