Martinelli Says He Will Ignore Critics - Focus On Work

Infrastructure UpgradesPresident Ricardo Martinelli attended the inauguration today, Tuesday, 10 July 2012, of the second phase of the construction of the Alberto Motta Highway (from Panama City to Colon) from Quebrada López to Cuatro Altos. In his speech Martinelli said he was not going to respond to critics who make accusations against his administration. "I will dedicate myself to work," he said. He said he would focus on supervising the projects being built in the country, and to make sure they are being done correctly. He also said he would be monitoring to make sure the whole country has water, sewers, good health services, and education.

Development in Colon - As part of his speech, the President said the people of Colon can be proud because it will be one of the points of greatest development and growth in the country. He said the Atlantic coast will have a new international airport, a sports city, a new hospital and better roads. Colon will be very large and very strong, said the President. (Prensa)

Editor's Comment: The new segment of highway is now opened. Before it ended just before Sabanitas. Now you can take it all the way to the Cuatro Altos.
