CD Will Reform Party Statues In September

PoliticsThe President of the Cambio Democratico political party Ricardo Martinelli has convened an Extraordinary National Convention for 2 September 2012, during which they will reform the party's statutes. In a statement, it was reported they will hold an election of the new convention delegates, and there will be a proposal for there to be one delegate for every two hundred party members inscribed in each voting district. The Secretary General of the CD and Minister of Labor and Workforce Development, Alma Cortés said this decision also suspends the cut off date for the Electoral Roll, which had been set for Saturday July 28 and "will give greater orpotunidad for all members wishing to participate in the selection of the directors of the districts and circuits, as well as the secretaries of the fronts for youth, women, business, professional, indigenous and farming."

Editor's Comment: All of the major political parties are just now starting the process of getting their acts together for the 2014 election. First they define their leadership (going on now), then later they will define their candidates in primary elections.
