Water service is slowly starting to return to some areas, while in other areas at higher points such as Betania, Carrasquilla, Paraíso and others, it's taking longer and the water service has not yet been restored. The Metropolitan Manager of the IDAAN Abilio Pittí said on RPC Radio the service will be first reestablishing in the low lying areas, and then later at the higher elevations. In the latter is expected the normal supply will be reestablished in the afternoon or later in the evening. Pittí added the work to repair the water main pipe that had been damaged when it was hit by a bulldozer yesterday afternoon continued until 2:00 am this morning. "We opened the valves at about 5:00 am," he said. He also warned they would be evaluating the costs, and the repair bill will be passed to the company responsible for the damage. (Panama America)
