Tourists Assaulted On Ave. Balboa
Two Venezuelans were targets of an assault and kidnapping by four criminals who intercepted them on Balboa Avenue in the district of Bella Vista, with the aim of stealing their car, and then they were abandoned near the University of Panama (UP). The robbery was reported during last Tuesday night when the pair of South Americans, 49 and 46, were traveling aboard a rented gray Toyota Corolla sedan, and were intercepted by some armed men who got out of another car on Balboa Avenue and forced them to stop. With threats, the thugs boarded the tourists' sedan and they were bound and gagged. They stole an iPod, a BlackBerry cell phone and $ 250 in cash. Not content with that, the criminals took the rental car. The thugs left the victims left in the vicinity of one of the faculties of the University of Panama, and from there fled.
