Garbage Truck Removed From Sinkhole
After at least three attempts they were able to remove the garbage truck that fell into a hole yesterday afternoon, after part of the pavement of the parking lot of a shopping center located in Condado del Rey gave way. Earlier, Heriberto Chavez, an official of SINAPROC, said they could not get the truck out because the crane was not capable of lifting the weight, because the vehicle weighs between 22 to 24 tons. The driver of the truck, which belongs to the company ATESA, that does the work of garbage collection for the Cleanliness Authority, said yesterday when the incident occurred the workers had already collected at least eight tons of garbage, as is routine. One witness reported as soon as the truck transited the pavement it sank immediately, however it was learned that is not the first time this has happened. It was reported that the promoters of the development will have to repair the huge hole, and they could even be punished. (TVN)
