Heavy Rains And High Tides Forecast For Western Chiriqui Province

WeatherThe National Civil Protection System (SINAPROC) today urged residents in the coastal and lowland areas around Barú, Bugaba and Alanje to increase their alert status and prevention efforts because of the bad weather they are expecting in those areas, in the Western part of the province of Chiriqui in the next few hours. Serrano said that by the beginning of tonight, Monday July 23, there are high tides, as well as forecasts for heavy rains in the lowlands of western Pacific coast of Chiriqui, which increases the likelihood of reported flooding. "There are emergency plans and evacuation should not be a problem," said Serrano. (TVN)
