Power Restored After Last Night's Storms

Infrastructure Upgrades Electrical service has been restored to 80% of the Azuero region, after a storm during the evening of Saturday 28 July caused the collapse of several trees on more than 10 utility poles in San Jose de Las Tablas and on the road leading to Pedasi. The damage to the power lines supplying electricity affected the communities of Cerro Canajagua, Bayano, Valle Rico, Santo Domingo, Pocrí and Luberito, including surrounding areas, said the distribution company Gas Natural Fenosa.

Repair work completed last night, managing to restore power to communities in Pedasi, Playa Venao, Los Destiladeros, Pocrí, Paraiso, San Jose and Paritilla. On Sunday morning the company continues to work to normalize the power supply to customers in the areas of El Muñoz, Bayano, Cerro Canajagua, Valle Rico, Las Trancas and Rio Hondo.

Gas Natural Fenosa asked Azuero customers to report any problems by calling customer service at 315-7222.
