Slight Decrease in Homicide Rate So Far This Year in Panama
There has been a slight decrease in the homicide rate this year, compared to last year. From January through July 2011 there were 390 homicides in Panama. During the same period so far this year, there have been 371. In making a comparison between the two, this represents a decrease of 19 homicides throughout the country. These numbers came to light during a report submitted by the National Police by the different Chiefs of each zone at a national level. (Panama America)
Editor's Comment: That's a 4.8% decrease. Not much, but better than an increase.
