Customs Seizes $17,500 In Cash From A Passenger At Tocumen
Customs workers at the Tocumen International Airport seized $17,500 in undeclared cash from a citizen from El Salvador who arrived on a commercial flight. The subject had some of the money hidden in a handle of a suitcase, and more hidden in the pockets of the pants he was wearing. A customs process was started against the foreigner, and his testimony was taken. So far in 2012, Customs has seized more than $2.1 million dollars in cash. Authorities at the airport have strengthened checks for those who try to bring money illegally. (Critica)
