Two Killed When Minibus From Tocumen Carrying Tourists Hits Truck on Southern Corridor
Two people were killed and two others were injured on Friday night in a spectacular crash between a tourist minibus and a truck that had broken down on the Southern Corridor, a few meters from the ramp coming from Tocumen. The first reports indicated the truck had suffered a mechanical mishap that forced it to stay on the roadway, it was being assisted by a tow truck, and they were getting ready to tow it away. Suddenly the bus occupied by four people crashed violently into the truck, leaving two people killed and two others injured.
The driver Victor Perez from Panama, and a passenger, a Brazilian national, were killed instantly. Their bodies were trapped inside the vehicle. The wounded, who are also Brazilian and the parents of the deceased woman, were taken to the Tocumen Regional Hospital, both suffered minor injuries and are stable.
