US Ambassador Has Confidence in Panama's Democratic Institutions

Panama NewsThe U.S. ambassador, Jonathan Farrar, said yesterday he has "great confidence in the democratic institutions" of Panama and stressed that the country has a very open political debate with the participation of all, what he described as positive. According to Farrar, political sectors and civil society should participate in discussions.

On another issue, he said they seek to implement 24 youth centers throughout the country to support programs focused on humanitarian service to which the American Embassy makes its contribution.

His remarks came as part of the International Youth Day, during which children from the sector of Coco Solo in the province of Colon, spent time with great sports personalities such as the basketball player Davis Peralta Sr., the swimmer Cesar Barria, and personalities from the Society of Friends of the West Indian Museum of Panama.
